Company Overview
Emergent Industries is a leading provider of aluminum, brass, bronze and copper sand and permanent mold castings for short‐run through high volume applications. Our foundry operation utilizes the latest processes and equipment to manufacture high‐quality non-ferrous castings in the most cost‐effective manner. Emergent Industries’ diverse casting capabilities allow us to run a variety of sizes and quantities. Our machining operations and finishing capabilities enable us to provide our customers complete solutions.
Emergent Industries is primarily an aggregate of two companies, Marinette Casting and Lake Shore Foundry. Both entities bring a unique set of skills to the table. However we recognize that those skills alone will not be sufficient to compete in this challenging market place nor meet the ever evolving and increasingly more sophisticated demands of our customers. In order to meet these challenges, Emergent Industries is retooling our operations to ensure the optimum response for our customers delivering value from design through production. Our objective is to mesh seamlessly into our customer’s supply‐chain. Understanding product requirements, manufacturing quality cast solutions and conforming to supply‐chain requirements are paramount to provide the highest value to our customers.

Our Team
Robert Onesto, President and CEO
Bob is the founder of Emergent Industries and has done so with the overlying belief that US manufacturing will effectively compete and once again become a dominant force in global commerce. While his roots are not in the foundry business, his experiences in developing engineering, advanced technology and manufacturing bring a unique perspective to the company and industry. As an entrepreneur, Bob has founded and grown a number of technology companies innovating on the leading and sometime bleeding edge of the Internet and business-to-business e-commerce evolution. His vision and efforts toward enabling manufacturers to use web-based tools to automate their supply chain yields a customer-based understanding of their cost and operational concerns.
Prior to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Bob had garnered over 14 years of experience in a variety of leadership positions in engineering, procurement, marketing, and business development at Motorola, Inc. Bob holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
James Wagnitz, Chief Operating Officer
Jim comes to Emergent Industries via his partnership at Marinette Casting. He brings with him a robust engineering skill- set garnered though his many years of experience in design, manufacturing, and engineering. These talents have been indispensible in helping customers troubleshoot the design and manufacturability of their parts and processes.
Jim served four years in the U.S. Navy, during which time he began his practical experience as a machinist and duty engineer with responsibilities in main propulsion and AC/DC generation. He advanced to the rank of F-5 in the shortest time possible and served as an instructor in the U.S. Navy Reserves.
After completing military service in 1966, Jim entered the private industry, fortifying his practical knowledge by completing an apprenticeship and working as a journeyman tool and die maker. Concurrent to these efforts, Jim earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering and in System Analysis/Computer Programming. Jim has had a long and diverse career but never strayed too far from his mechanical engineering roots holding project management, design and manufacturing engineering positions with increasing responsibility and capacity. In 1987, Jim joined Karl Schmidt Unisia where he continued his technical and managerial path holding multiple engineering positions including Manufacturing Engineer, Senior Engineer, and Manager of Manufacturing Engineering. Here he also gained considerable vertical knowledge in the design and manufacture of pistons and other automotive components. During this period, Jim returned to college and received a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with an emphasis on Business and Economics.
The Heart and Soul
While the above highlights our management team, we’d be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge the team that truly delivers quality solutions to our customers. Our molders, operators, machinists and assorted operations employees, who, each day bring their skills, knowledge, artisanship, pride and attitude, are the heart and soul of the operation. Their teamwork and professional approach enables Emergent Industries to continue to deliver quality solutions on time.
